Key Features
- Multi-Band Overlapping Design: Separate bands overlap to prevent swelling from occurring in gaps between compression points, mimicking professional bandaging.
- Easy VELCRO® Brand Closure System: Simple hook-and-loop application allows for convenient self-management and adjustment throughout the day.
- Fully Adjustable to Fluctuating Edema: Bands can be individually tightened or loosened to match daily changes in limb size and volume.
- Trimmable as Limb Reduces: As therapy progresses and the limb gets smaller, the bands can be trimmed to maintain an optimal, non-bulky fit.
- Cost-Effective Home Alternative: Provides the clinical benefits of in-clinic multi-layer bandaging at a fraction of the long-term cost.
- Machine Washable for Easy Care: Designed for practical daily use and can be laundered following standard care instructions.
- Durable Construction for Long-Term Use: Built to withstand repeated adjustment, washing, and trimming over its therapeutic lifespan.
- Promotes Patient Independence: Enables effective self-care, reducing reliance on clinic visits for bandage changes.
Therapeutic Benefits and Use
- Manages Severe Varicosities and Venous Hypertension: Provides extra-firm compression to alleviate symptoms and complications of advanced venous disease.
- Effectively Controls Severe Edema and Lymphedema: The high-pressure system is designed to significantly reduce limb volume in cases of moderate to severe fluid accumulation.
- Promotes Healthy Blood Flow in Stasis Conditions: Encourages venous return and lymphatic drainage in limbs challenged by chronic insufficiency.
- Supports Treatment of Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI): Helps manage pain, skin changes, and ulceration risks associated with long-term venous dysfunction.
- Ideal for Post-Sclerotherapy and Surgical Recovery: Offers high-level compression that can be modified as post-procedural swelling subsides.
- Aids in Preventing Venous Ulcer Recurrence: Maintains the consistent, high compression needed to protect vulnerable skin and healed wounds.
- Manages Complex Phlebolymphedema: Effective for conditions where venous and lymphatic disorders coexist, requiring robust and flexible compression.
- Facilitates Intensive Decongestive Therapy at Home: Serves as the maintenance phase component of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), allowing continued progress outside the clinic.

Important Medical Notice
Consult your physician before use if you have: arterial disease (ABPI < 0.8), severe peripheral neuropathy, massive edema from congestive heart failure, cellulitis, or a known allergy to any material in the garment. Do not use if you have a localized skin infection or fragile, weeping skin. This high-compression garment is a serious medical treatment and proper diagnosis, sizing, and training in application are essential for safety and efficacy. Your healthcare provider must determine if this compression level is appropriate for your specific condition.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a regular compression stocking?
Unlike a stocking, it is fully adjustable with multiple bands, allowing you to customize pressure at different points on your leg and adapt to swelling changes hour-by-hour, which is impossible with a pre-sized stocking.
How do I choose the right size for an adjustable legpiece?
Accurate measurement of your leg at multiple points is crucial. Measure the circumference of your ankle at the narrowest point, calf at the widest point, and if applicable, thigh circumference. Also measure the length from floor to below knee (or to desired height). Please refer to the specific product sizing chart to match your measurements to the correct size.
How do I trim the bands safely?
Trim only along the clearly marked cutting lines, and only trim a small amount at a time as your limb reduces. Never cut the VELCRO® hooks or loops. If unsure, consult your therapist for the first trim.
Can I sleep in this legpiece?
No. High compression garments like this 30-40 mmHg legpiece should not be worn overnight unless explicitly prescribed and instructed by your physician for a specific reason. Remove it before sleeping.
How often should I wash it?
Wash it regularly (e.g., every 1-3 days) to remove sweat, skin cells, and oils, which can degrade the fabric and irritate your skin. Follow the machine wash care instructions.
What if I have very large or misshapen legs?
The BASIC Legpiece is excellent for significant swelling, but for extreme limb shapes or sizes, the FarrowWrap Classic or Strong lines, or a custom garment, may be more appropriate. Consult your clinician.

Measuring Guide for Sizing of Compression Stockings
Measuring your legs for compression stockings, support socks, support hose, and gradient
compression hosiery:.
-
For knee-highs: measure around your ankle and calf.
Then, measure the distance from the floor to the back of your knee. -
For thigh-high and pantyhose: measure around your ankle, calf, and
upper thigh.
Then, measure the distance from the floor to your upper thigh (bottom of your buttocks).
An Important Measuring Tip...
Take your measurements, as shown below with a tape measure. Sizing charts are located on every product "see details" page for your convenience. If you need further assistance, please call 1-800-504-7315 or Live Chat with us.
How to Properly Measure and Apply Compression Stockings
Sizes may differ between various brands of support stockings. Keep in mind that each manufacturer of support hose has their own sizing chart. A medium size in one brand of circulation stockings, may not be a medium in another. Some brands of compression stockings offer petite (shorter) lengths, while others do not. Knowing your measurements will ensure you get compression hosiery that fits properly and comfortably. Sizing charts are located on every product "see details" page for your convenience.
